MEET THE COOS BASIN COHO PARTNERSHIP

The Coos Basin Coho Partnership is a collaborative force leading the charge for Coho conservation in our region. With representation from tribal, state, federal, non-profit, and private sectors, our team of 15 members united to craft the Strategic Action Plan (SAP) for Coho salmon recovery in the Coos watershed. This comprehensive plan maps out long-term strategies spanning the next 25 years, aimed at ensuring the sustainability of our coastal Coho salmon population.

By prioritizing the support of working agricultural lands and enhancing ecological conditions for Coho, we strike a balance between local economic needs and salmon restoration efforts. Fueled by a rich history of tribal stewardship and partnerships, we are driven by the collective efforts of our allies, advocates, and collaborators dedicated to the well-being of our salmon and coastal habitats.

Salmon recovery requires action at all levels of government and by all stakeholders to be effective.

Partnerships among federal, state, local, and tribal entities, together with non-governmental and private organizations, are key to restoring healthy salmon runs and ensuring the cultural, economic, and environmental benefits they provide.
